I still have my hard copy. This brings back memories for sure! I used mine like crazy back in the day when all we had was Kunark. I remember being so frustrated that I couldn't find the wizard version of Track Corpse! I mean it says right there on page 141 that it's a level 20 wizard spell.
On Live servers shadowed men will scowl no matter what your real faction with them is, like Oasis crocodiles. The faction starts out at dubious however, so this is what was confusing me. I killed some and they started aggroing me after some random delay and at first I thought they were exhibiting some strange novel aggro behavior but it finally dawned on me that my real faction is threatening and that's why they were aggroing after random delays. So the question is was this the precise behavior on AK. I.e. was taking faction hits with them necessary for them to become KOS, and the always scowling was confusing people to think they were KOS by default.
