It was actually a warrior...Forgot to take the SS before I logged him lol. I was thinking about trying a strat with a pet tanking and the ranger dpsing. The ranger would die too quick straight tanking.
Haven't posted much here in a couple of years, but I think my favorite PoP trio was the Fishlord event in PoWater. Just keeping a pet charmed underwater for a couple of hours is a challenge in itself, but the waves of mobs - including the occasional wave with both a named and adds - can require quick pickups and mezzes. The final named is also pretty tough. The first time I won, only the chanter and charmpet were left standing when the named finally died. Fun stuff.
Grouping MB, TT, AD and Saryrn was also fun. I think grouping TZ is still an open challenge but strikes me as doable with the right classes and strat. I wonder if a group could spawn RZtW (the real one in the pit). Killing RZtW would probably require calling in the cavalry, but just getting through the event with one group would be pretty cool. I suspect MB can be trio'd with some luck.
Insanely impressive. How do you handle charmbreaks in water without a bard babysitting or reliable slowdown from snare?
Fishlord! That is impressive. Cleric stuns are great for keeping charm pets in line, Frosst, and they don't get soggy when wet!
Nice work. Which characters did you use? What loot did you get? Never did that event, but would like to one day. It has some nice stuff.
I know others trio'd Kuanbyr years ago, but I guess I never tried? Anyway, trio'd with SK/CLR/ENC, self buffs, no other toons ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So is this the latest tier list, PoP edition? Just copy/pasted from recent-ish upthread posts. ------------------------------------------------- Trio Warm-up Rallius Rattican BoT Wing bosses Any rare in the BoT Towers Justice trial Plane of Air / Plane of Earth A trash (beyond suits of armor, mostly due to getting there/pulling) Diaku Armorer, Diaku Supplier Trakanon HoT break-in Zlandicar Trio Tier 1 Plane of Fire F1/C1 rares Plane of Water D1 rares Untel'Dak Yelinak A Rabid Wrulon, A Recuso Degenerate, An Undead Inhabitant (HoH rune droppers. I have a harebrained scheme for MB trio. Pretty sure spawning him is a higher hurdle than the kill. Will report back if I get the itch to try it out.
Shouldn't Storms medallion giants be much lower ranked? I doubt I can pull off anything beyond the warmup tier right now (or tier 1 at best), yet I had little trouble trioing BoT access.
There are raid-level named in Plane of Storms that nobody ever does. They're very difficult. I've personally never fought them, but would like to.
I think he's referring to the Medallion Giants in Tier 3 which you kill for BoT access. The Storm Lords are in Tier 5, and I truly have no idea how anyone would trio them.
It seems like these "gods" are just rolling over for anyone these days. I'm not sure what happened with my screenshot here. It looks like I put my thumb over the lens. I'm unwilling to go back for a clean trio screenshot any time soon. Mostly because this guy killed me about 20 times, and I only managed to get him twice. I used Bard / Druid / Chanter for the kill. Maybe I'll go back one day when the bard has a few more items and the druid has many more items to see if I can get my normal trio of Bard / Druid / Mag. I bailed out of my one attempt with that trio when the first spawn was at about 70% HP and the druid had about 20% mana. That was also with the mage blowing all of his swarm pets, the mage using up frenzied burnout, the bard deftdancing, the druid using spirit of the wood, and a DI firing.
I think it was the pet. I thought I had him parked off screen, but he must have popped in for a photobomb.
Haven't done one of these in a while. Getting to and killing the Brood Mother ended up being a pretty fun and challenging solo excursion Edit: I'm gonna leave this up, but I have to laugh at this post. Now that I've camped the brood mother for a bit, this fight is actually trivial and a bit funny to post in this thread. I just made it harder than it had to be by fighting a bunch of see invis adds.
I finally achieved a huge EQ bucket list item. Killing Talendor solo. The method of summon DS kiting that I used successfully against Severilous proved too difficult against Talendor. Even with some time gear Tally simply outputs too much damage. Talendor is surrounded by strong allies in dangerous terrain. I used these allies against him. I've tried charm killing Talendor in the past, but was unsuccessful due to the fear and occasional dearth of available pets. This time around, I managed to minimize the pet fear by breaking charm and keeping backup pets in camp at all times. Talendor probably chewed through about 20 pets, so it was a constant scramble to find fresh pets and keep them nearby. I meleed the last few % of Talendor just to remind myself how one sided the fight would be if I went toe-to-toe from the top. Even with deftdance, Tally tore through most of my HP while I whittled down his last 4%. He must have known a bard was gonna kill him, because the loot was absolute shite. What's next?
