Its not just about the challenge. Doing it with certain classes shows a different level of skill. Some 3 box setups will have different limitations. Its about pushing what is possible. Also, raid vs group geared. That sets a whole new category out there too.
My peen measurement comment came out harsher than I intended as I read it now. Please keep up the good work all the folks trying to do as much as you can with a 3-box crew.
Reading through this list I see basically everyone using enchanter+cleric+random. It seems that Charm is just the ability Verant could never balance; even the shaman solo artists on P99 were mostly using puppet strings. And from what I hear Charm will be even more ridiculous in Planes of Power. The only P99 SAC strategy without charm that really comes to mind was the Donal's BP cheese on Ragefire. Unfortunately Monk is pretty worthless for this kind of thing because you can pull 99% of content with no risk using pacify (yes, I'm bitter).
Eh some I've done Cleric/Druid/Warrior and some I've done Cleric/Druid/SK. Did Nagafen with Warrior/Wizard and 1 person on my Bard and 1 person on my Cleric. Was a very close fight with just those 4 though. Slow, Charm and CH were all stupidly OP. Combined together they're pretty absurd. I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if a solid combination of 3-4 Clerics 3-4 Enchanters and maybe a Shaman could do statue of Rallos Zek though.
There's a bit of strategy and adventure required, but some challenges require a pet or raid loot, or both... Anyways, it's meant to be just a bit of fun, like a side/alternate quest challenge when you're bored or up for something different. Let's not get too serious about the e-peen, or how OP certain skills/abilities are etc... Yes a charmed pet + cleric is probably going to be more powerful than some other combinations. Maybe people kinda need to get over it? It's only going to get more "OP" when AAs come out. What a travesty that players can overcome the evil monsters of Norrath. Veeshan is surely upset.

I will update this list as I down more of the crap on it rather than reposting in the thread. Honestly had more issues with Tranix and Phinny than I had with Tangrin and Vessel. Darchon told me what he charmed for Tangrin and Vessel. After that both those fights were cake. Tranix and Phinny were both a pita to pull. I ended up fighting Tranix with 2 buddies at once. Phinny killed me a couple times before I got him solo. Pretty sure I can pull him consistently now though.

(He dropped zero pieces of armor. I was not happy) All of these were a mix of SK, Cleric, Shaman, Chanter. Fights like the Noble Dojorn I had to use SK/ENC/CLR to kite/kill the blade storms, and SK/SHM/CLR for the Dojorn himself. Use Sk/Shm/Clr for Brother Z/Q also. They really aren't super bad with a tank and a decent amt of DS.
Is that a warrior puppet stringing a spectral protector? A+ move. When I did VS I just borrowed Pithy's Enchanter and dumb warrior to double Enchanter charm and warrior just kinda sat there facing VS away from pets hehe.
That's what it looks like. I'm guessing the cleric really didn't do much in that fight. Generally if you lose Rune you've already lost. So you shouldn't actually take any damage when tanking him.
Cool stuff, didn't know this existed. Wouldn't yael and terror be significantly harder than anything else given the DTs?
Ah, good stuff. And i guess Yael does DT a lot less frequently... 2 min vs 45 sec? Still, rough for a trio. Will be fun to try later on.
Eh? I think Yael DTs with the same frequency as any other mob that has Cazic's Touch. The only 2 min DTs are the Exiled and Shei because they both use Touch of Vinitras.
Cleric definitely helped that fight, required heals when there were multiple procs and broke through, tank got low a few times. Didn't chain spam rune cause I ran oom first attempt so paced the runes, and balanced it with a few heals. Didn't use bedlam, just Rune5. And yeah two charmed hasted quadding muzled pets and 68pt dmg shield. Worked well
I was gonna try VS with SK/bard/cleric for poops and giggles before I lost most of my free time. Was able to take down the Nortalv (sp?) dude with that trio and 500 MR, and it was pretty much a landslide victory. VS is a few levels higher than Nortav though, so I imagine I would eat far more near max taps, and not have sweet sweet evasive. Puppet strings with tank was what I was gonna try too, seemed like a solid idea.
Interesting on the Cleric. I guess when I did it I had two enchanters alternating Rune V so it never dropped. Enc/Enc/War is probably the easiest faceroll combination to do that fight with though. I will be intrigued to see come Luclin gear, spells and AAs if people can 3-box Trakanon and Zlandicar type mobs.
First off grats Rimidal, that’s impressive. Secondly I might try my hand at a few of these. I’ve done about half of the warm up and initiate just by chance and vessel on the disciple list but that’s it. Never tried it for pure sport but just because I needed to kill those dudes. Anyways, that brings me to my question. Has anyone ever successfully 3 boxed Vaniki here?? Was thinking about crawling around DN as it might be a cool zone to hit before Luclin rolls around and if he’s up figured his slow proc weapon would make a nice addition to slays collection. Was thinking a standard war/clr/enc set up since I doubt I’ll get him slow and just do the puppet string thing too so I have two pets like Rims set up for VS and just spam CH and Runes on slay probably on evasive to avoid procs. I’m just not sure if the dps from the 2 Charm pets would be able to drop him before cleric went oom from heals... Any thoughts or experience on Vaniki?
Gave Vaniki a try, his MR is so high you cannot slow him unless your combo is Bard+Ench+Mage/Shaman. At which point you lack the heals to do him probably. I tried I think Dru/Enc/Cler. I ended up botching the attempt, calling in Ravenwing and we killed it with 6 pretty easily.
I don't think vaniki is quite 3boxable in current era. Too magic resistant to slow, flurries like crazy - way higher melee dps than Venril sathir, plus lifetap proc, plus hard to single pull. I'd be very impressed if someone could do it.
I think if you were cycling out toons you could do it. Like Sham/Bard/Ench, then Turgurs, then swap the bard/shaman for SK/Cleric. You could probably down it in 5min while Turgurs is still on with a chanter pet + SK + Cleric hammer on back.
