Look, it is quite clear that the official recognition of the anniversary is the reset that occurs on or before the actual date unless said reset is more than 10 days before. Then it is after. It's that simple! Like election day or the start of the new Supreme Court each year!
there is a pro and con to having it over the holiday. For those that isn't doing anything over the christmas holiday would have more time to do the anniversary than those that are busy traveling and having family and friends get together. I think it more fair to have it on the Anniversary and let it run through the next reset in January so it's an even fair play.
Either way. Some of us take off for the holiday weeks leading up to New Year's anyway. You'll have people in both camps. I know we have a few members that can never spend time over the holidays doing the events, so I'm happy they can enjoy them more this year.
I like Rob's idea of having the event span two resets. The anniversary events are some of the most fun I've had on this server and having extra time to enjoy them would be fantastic.
Can us (we?) casuals who live vicariously through the forums get a link to his loot? I did not see it on the wiki or at least I was unable to find it easily.

Since Mayong came early this year and the reset is Wednesday, we'll run a bonus vampire lord kill tomorrow (Tuesday 1/3) at 8:30 PM Eastern. We'll follow Inacht's rules, except instead of everyone /randoming loot (which I find difficult to follow) we'll just take a list of names ("send tells if you're in on Item X") and roll between them (e.g. "1. Rimidal 2. Smudge 3. Mokli - anybody else? No?" /ran 1-3). We'll meet on the cliff overlooking the courtyard (#7 on the EQatlas map). Get there by floating in with lev from the area near the bridge into the castle (east and up the escarpment from #3 on the EQatlas map).
nice, great call on bonus Mayong! we'll be raiding potime so NAG attendance might be limited, but I'm sure we can send a few troops in since we can't all fit in the potime trials

Today we had a lv 57main win a /random, they were unaware of the 60+ rule. This seems like a really rare circumstance, but might be worth talking about whether the lv req should be dropped to 55 (wearable) in the future. (Personally, I didn't participate in MM when i was late 50's/sub 60, since i was aware of the rule).
Main characters (highest-level character for a given player) of a reasonable level should be allowed to roll imo
Not sure if the devs would transfer his weapons to a new char or not. I'm thinking no. Better let him win the next 2 to be safe.
Being somewhat new, would an exception to the lvl 60 loot roll requirement be possible for my lvl 58 trio (my main toons)? Either way, I'm looking forward to attending tonight!
I feel it wouldn't be a good idea to change the loot rules at this point unless everyone can agree at the kill that they won't object. I'm definitely open to it for next year (or for doing something completely different!)
