I was curious about this too. Noooooo idea at all on how to function on dev as far as special commands go etc. seems overwhelming.
Ok, well I'm a level 1 ranger in shadowhaven. Is there some kind of testbuff available? Are we expected to play normally up to the level needed to test the quests?
Hmm ok, well I saw a reference to #setaapoints in one of teh posts, so I guessed and tried #setexp, which told me I didn't have enough permission. I'm guessing that there is a standard set of # commands that eqemu supports, so I'll go and see if i can find that. What do I do to get upgraded enough to use them? Sorry if this is all posted somewhere but if it is, it's not obvious to me.

In-game, you can type #help and it will give you a list of commands available to you and what they do.
Ok. SO we contacted rob and he came in and set us up. Its kind of a manual process for him, but once it's done you're all set.
Aaaaand I could have done it all myself I think, with #help and so forth. #setexp is not the right command, it told me I didnt have permission, which is probably a spurious error, but it made me think something else needed to be done. 1. Change the eqhosts file and make the .net say .org 2. Log on, it will make the account for you 3. do a #help and start buffing yourself 4. Resist spending 2 hours BIS'ing yourself 5. Profit
Because I'm lazy and didnt want to constantly open up my INI file in notepad++ (windows, not OSx) I simply just created a dupe folder, named it TAKP Dev, modded the eqhosts file, and copied a new eqw shortcut to the desktop out of sheer laziness for all future dev server endeavors.
