I was unaware of the existence of macros in "the old days" so I've just gotten used to playing without them here. That's why I'm looking for examples of what to put in a macro. Casting skillups seem like a no-brainer, but I've worked so hard at getting everything else to come automatically that now the idea of changing seems to be counter-intuitive. It also seems like different classes would have different needs. If I'm not grouped, I usually duo my monk & druid and solo my necro.
My favorite social hotkey is on my mage: /assist <tank> /pause 20, /pet attack /stand /pause 40, /cast <nuke> /sit With one keypress I do targeting, send pet, pause, nuke, pause, med. Some fights I hit it once at the beginning, but longer fights I can use the same key to keep nuking and medding.
I forget if there is a space or not, but ghetto pet hold. Code: [ Only registered users can see the bbcode. Click Here To Register... ] Used like this and spammed. Only backoff the pet only tries to turn and walk back, with follow the pet tries to run back reducing the chance the mob hits and gets pet to re-engage.
Once we get aa's for spell cast shits I will set back up a well timed tash/slow macro for a one push win.

You would use your group tank's name and the spell gem number for the nuke. For rogue I use: /attack off, /doability hide, /doability pickpocket, /doability sneak, /attack on
really digging this thread, the is exactly what i need help with too for my druid i have a very similar macro as the mage one above, it targets my pally, /assists, /pause /cast root /pause/cast DoT /sit
My chanters pet assist, tash, slow on incomming button. /stand /assist Quillen /pet attack /pause 30, /cast 7 (tash) /pause 30, /cast 8 (slow) Don't ask me how pauses work, this seems to be the only combination that works. With these pauses she'll cast slow right when gems pop back up.
Your last pause on the last line shouldn't really be doing anything, the pause comes after the cast on that line so your pausing 3 seconds for nothing.
His ranger can easily cast tangling weeds + flame lick multiple times before those land to counteract the agro.
Not to mention that proximity counts as very high aggro on this server. It's kind of hard to pull a mob off of the tank compared to what I remember from live.
i got a nice one for mage .. first line --> /pet back off second line --> /pet attack thats it lol .. Now spose you want pet to attack, you just target an npc and press button, it will attack To make pet back off, make sure you got nothing targetted, and press the button, and pet will back off, press it more if it re engaged since it got hit again .. Spose you get an add and its beating on the mage (you) .. you target the add, and press the button, once or twice .. pet will go to the add then ... And spose you are in a group with lets say chanter .. that also ads in his regular pet .. but problem is the closest pet tanks, so you want to move your mage pet really on top of the npc so thats the pet getting hit .. so just send in pet .. go to opposite side from the npc your pet is hitting it from .. and make sure you got the npc targetted still, and spam the button few times, each time you do, your pet move in just a hair closer,, can really park it on top of the head of the npc that way ) So thats how my mage do it,, 1 button for everything ) .. A. My button for checking people out : first line --> /whotarget second line --> /guildstatus that give me some additional info if i target someone and click that button B. Macro for my paladin tank first line --> /doa 1 second line --> /doa 2 third line --> /doa 3 this macro will do the abilities by number ( slots u do put abilities in , in the window with camp button, each got a number, i think on default on page 3 of that window, its number 5 to 10 and on page 4 got 1 to 4 ... on my own UI (PoukyUI) i did put numbers on the slots to make it easier to know what number you put ability on.. ) so in my case i have taunt in slot 1, bash in slot 2, and disarm for instance in slot 3 .. so when i press button, it taunt, bash and disarm in 1 press of a button C. Location macro .. a must have .. easy just 1 line --> /loc can use it while you are running to get to a given location m when people say like, come to loc -1000 , 500 .. so just spam it while you run and try get to the location P .. Also handy for when you know you gonna die somewhere in the middle of some zone .. ,, just make sure u press the button, so u got the exact loc where you died at .. makes recovering so much easier D. Assist key .. probably even more important 1 line only .. --> /assist nameofpersonyouwanttoassisthere so like /assist pouky .. good for groups, a must for raids ! E. Button for buff classes in raids Spose you are a buffer in the raqids u usually do .. and get lots tells for bufs all the time then you need this macro line 1 --> /rtarget line 2 --> /r working on it right now! what this will do is .. it will target the last person that send you a tell, and reply ur working on his buff. so all you got to do when get a tell, is press that button, and do the requested buff, saves tons time trying to target manually, or having to type /target name ..
