Item based gate, certainly one with cast time like circle of smoke definitely could collapse on AK. I presume because the item is using the same spell information as the player cast spell, which can rarely fail. Is the instant gate potion using the same 'rarely fail' logic, or is it supposed to always succeed? I didn't use gate potions enough on AK or live to know. Hoping the hive mind can chime in.
Yea that's how it is. It's part of the effect, doesn't matter which item is the source. This is all handled in the client, not eqemu.

Halfling caps are what it is all about. Other than finding the alligator skins, those can be challenging to track down.

I still remember failing to get Guise from the event one year, and instead just having instant gate potions to show for the effort. I finally used one during a TXD wipe...and it collapsed. And I had to join in on the 30+ minute corpse summoning fiesta. They're all cursed, I say!
