Problem with Apply Poison

My 56 rogue trained Make poison and Apply poison to 30.
I made some Solvent Gangrene poisons (skill level 40).

I used

to understand the basics. You need to put a piercing weapon on your cursor, put the poison in an inventory slot and right click the weapon onto the poison. The problem is, I tried it 75 times and always got the message "You begin to apply the poison" and then after perhaps 10 seconds the message "You failed to apply the poison". I have no idea if this a bug, broken, or if I am doing something wrong.

I have never done make or apply poison before - is there something I am missing?

where did you come up with the "put piercing weapon on cursor" idea?

you need a piercing weapon in your primary weapon slot, not on your cursor

 

Hm, I tried to click the poison on the piercer and it did not work. Nothing happened.

 

I believe you just right click poison I'm inventory and it applies to equipped primary piercer. Been a long time for me though.

 

Tulu is right. Have poison in open inventory slot . Right click it. You will automatically sit down. Whether successful or not, the poison disappears.
