Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone knows how (or why) lucy is calculating spell AC values compared to AllaClone. I've always been told that Lucy is the place to find the most accurate spell data. In large part, the info in Lucy and Allaclone is pretty similar, but one big difference is AC. Take Aegolism for example AllaClone: https://www.takproject.net/allaclone/spell.php?id=1447 Lucy: http://lucy.alkabor.com/spell_1447.html AllaClone shows 180 AC, Lucy shows 54 AC. I know AllaClone is showing the "raw" AC, but what is Lucy showing us? its seems to just be dividing the raw AC by 3.333. Does that factor have any meaning? To go from raw AC to actual AC, you divide by 4 for most classes, and divided by 3 for int casters 180/4 = 45 AC for most classes 180/3 = 60 for Int casters Neither the 45 or 60 tie into Lucy, is Lucy trying to average these things? (still doesn't quite work out but its close).
I can answer this, though I'm afraid it won't be very enlightening. I scale the raw AC value by a factor of 0.3 before displaying it. Why? To maintain consistency with the values displayed on the EQPC version of Lucy. Also, I think it lines up with displayed AC in game, though I'm not sure about that for various classes.
ZAM, Magelo, AllaKabor, etc. all handle spell AC like lucy.alkabor. It makes sense to synch those sites with the client. I'm about 95% sure the client multiplies spell AC by about 0.29 for all classes, even though silkies get a bit more out of spell AC. If you're doing AC or mitigation calculations, @Kovah, use the raw value from AllaClone. So 180 for aego, etc.
