Are you using WinEQ? I had this issue right when I started and I just needed to close WinEQ.

Dont run via search. Use a shortcut. Or navigate to install folder.

If you installed directly in a folder off c:\, move to somewhere like c:\users\public\

I thought this issue was brought up by not clicking on the right eqgame.exe thing

Yea. But I dont know how they are doing it wrong. The installer with shortcuts seems easiest. Not sure why people make it harder for themselves

Alternate solution: put eqmain.dll in every single folder on your entire hard drive and you can start the game from anywhere.

I always have my game installed in my "Document" folder. works well. I got UF, SoD, Titanium, TAKP client, and RoF2 all in my document folder.
