I missed the maps when I started, but so many less desirable things came along with a few utilities. I can live with it; I started when Kunark was released, before maps. You do you, BTD42. Good luck.
This issue is easily solved. https://www.takproject.net/forums/index.php?threads/zlizeqmap-luclin-pop-map-pack.12121/ https://www.takproject.net/forums/index.php?threads/fork-of-nparse-for-takp.19262/ All you have to do is make a /loc macro and, voila, you have working maps.
It's good feedback anyway. Everyone has different things they consider important/valuable to how they play. Some of this is personal stuff and hard to understand for people with a different set of abilities and handicaps.
I feel bad for people that let mousewheel / no map / no tab targeting(etc..) get in the way of such an amazing gaming experience provided by the devs and community here. TAKP is such a treasure and the perceived barrier to entry are so miniscule compared to the joy of playing here.
It’s an adjustment, but you can learn the zones. Have the TAKP atlas handy on a browser and you can get by.
Some people just plow ahead and keep moving forward, in spite of being lost - Neea comes to mind. Follow her lead, figuratively, not literally!
I still find the maps to lguk and seb almost useless. You almost have to explore and get there by remembering the way. Velks is another for me
Yeah EQ atlas is your friend for a bit, but before long it's just memory. Every once in a while I use a gate potion to some weird spot like innothule swamp and have a "where the F am I?" Moment
