Hyphenated Surnames?

Hi there,

Please forgive the newbie question as I'm sure it has been answered somewhere.. I just can't find it.

On P99 as is here, you can't create a surname with a hyphen in it. However, you could petition a GM to do it for you - my husband had Le'Faye for his rogues surname there.

I read an old 2015 post about any name changes being unreasonably hard here - but does this also apply to surname creation with a hyphen in it?

We do not create surnames with hyphens for people here.

Sometimes surnames are awarded when people do extra ordinary testing or something helping out staff.

A ` is a 'backtick' or 'accent grave'
