Likely about this time next year. Depends on progress. Some of the devs have been burning it pretty hard getting Velious ready. So I expect very little progress in next 2 months as far as content goes. In addition to the zones, all the AAs have to be checked and verified as functional too. A lot to do. H
Velious is out but it's still being worked on. We just didn't want to delay launch over the outstanding issues. Primarily, many of the more common NPCs need their resists adjusted, which is extremely time consuming work to parse that only I do. I had to work on a lot of Luclin and PoP content this year because Daybreak has a bulldozer aimed at it. (being hospitalized didn't help either) No breaks for me for awhile. Vulak ring and Ring War scripts also aren't finished.
Let's shoot for a June 1st launch day. This will fix the horrific summer lull we experience every year.
I love you Torven. I hope my rare-ass Vulak logs helped, at least until I turned melee off. =( Such shame. Shame.
Luclin will never be done until something can be formulated that allows Possessed Sacrificial Cleaver/Club to drop.
Yes, it was the only log of the event that I had until Temerity people starting submitting. You may have logged that before the new UI was in, which meant only one text window, so people had a very good excuse to turn others' hits off back then.
I think everyone would be happy if y'all just skipped a standalone Luclin and released Tier1+Tier2 PoP along with the forgettable moon.
Let's release Luclin in three sections: Section one: Towns and low level zones, no raid mobs Section two: 50+ zones and AA, no raid mobs, enable Luclin tradeskill Section three: Enable raid mobs and raid zones(vt, ssra mobs, rumblecrush)
How about it gets done when it gets done in the way devs think best? We got tons of velious content to keep us busy. Luclin is an amazing expansion btw, maybe you will enjoy it this time Lurari?
There are a lot of cool raids that just didn't see a lot of action on AK. Partly because of the effort involved, partly because there were better options available for RvR. They're actually incredibly fun in era gear and I think a guild would be crazy to pass them up. The Itraer Vius Deep Burrower THO High Priest Doomshade Insanity Crawler Rhag2+AL Not to mention the really cool scripts Luclin had. Caller Cycle in FG Grimling Raids in Grimling Forest The Hollowshade War We have a lot to look forward to in Luclin. But I definitely agree with Link. I'm not itching for it anytime soon.
Don't encourage your other Devs! Luclin is the expansion I am looking forward to the most personally. It is going to be a huge challenge with all the scripted events Delorne pointed out.
I only ever saw doomshade killed once, and it was an open raid not a guild. If memory serves, the gear sucks comparatively. The risk vs reward just was not there for this (again, I think). Most everything else on that list drops good stuff (in era especially). Only perhaps the rhag's being the exception - but as I recall, they were really easy.
Luclin was a great time for smaller raid crews. There were lots of targets doable with only 2-3 groups. As a filthy casual, it should be nice.
Yep on Terris Thule we had a guild called Drunken Tsunami that did a lot of the raids with three groups and bagged a couple of server firsts too such as Lord Inquisitor Seru and the Burrower in the Deep
Temerity did all of those, some many times (especially R2+AL), back in 2003-2004. Ravenwing should have submitted my logs with some of those encounters a few months ago.
Yeah, this is the only reason I know of for killing Doomshade... and it's not a common drop. Only saw it once in about 6-8 kills I was in on (these were on Povar, iirc). But if you need haste, it's not a bad item, just gotta get lucky. A lot of effort for a slim chance though.
