I would say most people that do Rng/enc/cleric main a ranger. So if you want to main a ranger then go that. If enc is your focus, I'd say mage. (Assuming these two options)
If you have a mac that is single boxing a ranger then you can main the enc and be fine. With a mac and some pennies you will simulate autofire which combined with charm is unbelievable dps everywhere luclin and beyond.
I started with mag/enc/cleric cuz mage pets are so ridiculous.. then i rolled a ranger to go with ranger/enc/cleric. Mage pets are EZ mode right now.
