Does anyone remember how to open a .pict file ? Is the format Screenshots are being saved as ( on my Mac Mini ) Wikipedia is singularly unhelpful !
The .pict extension was something Apple created. Any Adobe image editing program should be able to open it, but I'd just launch Preview and drag it over.
Neea, I can tell you what works for me in 10.6.8. I double-click the screenshot within Finder which opens the file in the Preview app. From Preview I can view it or click File -> Save As to convert it to another format like JPG or PNG. If Preview mentions a 64-bit error, do this once to fix things: Launch a new window in Finder. Navigate to your Applications folder. From the list of apps in that folder, right-click on Preview and select Get Info. Checkmark the Open in 32-bit field. Zetro
For a long time PC-EQ screenshots were just the BMP format and I don't think it was changeable for a while after Al'Kabor's fork. When they made the Mac version, Westlake (outsourced developers of the original client) set ours to PICT. Zetro
I have just been using Cmd + Shift + 4, Spacebar, Click. Full size screen shot saved to your desktop as a .png.
