I want to introduce myself to everyone. Long time EQ player, though probably not as good at it as most of you. I started playing EQ in phase 4 beta and have played on and off since. I worked on EQEmu early on, going back as far as 2001. Over the years I played on live servers, the test server, Al'Kabor and the DBG progression servers. I recently became interested in EQ again (as we all seem to do) and found this great community. I think what we have here is better than live EQ ever was, and I am glad to see how far EQEmu has come with the contributions of so many people over the years. I'm still trying to familiarize myself with the great work the devs and players here are doing and I hope I can start contributing more to the project over time. It's amazing to see how so many others are also interested in preserving this classic game, and just how much knowledge there is on these forums about every little obscure detail. My area of interest is mostly the EQEmu code - things that drive the game mechanics like spell casting, attacking, looting, etc. Thanks for having me!
And immediately, I thought of the sun. Happened like that. Overnight I became a sun-worshipper. Well, not overnight, you can't see the sun at night. But first thing the next morning, I became a sun-worshipper. Sun worship is fairly simple. There's no mystery, no miracles, no pageantry, no one asks for money, there are no songs to learn, and we don't have a special building where we all gather once a week to compare clothing.
Awesome! Thanks for helping make this server a better place, your time is appreciated. Look forward to seeing you around.
