Cripple is 1230. 1200 for the AC debuff, 10 each for the stat debuffs. I even hopped on the dev server to verify.
I think it's possible there may be either a difficult-to-pin-down bug or a couple of undisclosed features somewhere in the aggro system, but spell hate seems to work pretty consistently as Torven describes it.
You are correct, I just did the same and am dumbstruck tbh. Cripple was one of the main things I tested back when I was testing due to me doing mostly shm/chanter stuff on raids. I swear it was 1600 when I tested it, because it threw me off as to why it was so high.
Oh well. At least I know all the testing on dev for threat values could have been avoided by a Torven post search. I still give myself a pat on the back for effort.
Experiments still beat theory any day of the week!
I'm completely wrong about sit agro too, and I'd like to point out that I'm wrong. It's not always 1k and low hp isn't always 10k either, Just capped at 1k for sit and capped at 10k for low health. You'd think I would have noticed this, but I will admit I didn't spend a majority of my time on mobs it would be less than 1000 for.
I am never wrong.
Slow was never viewed at 400 hate.
Why you're seeing 400 hate come up is because that's more or less the cap for spells not in your spellbook. So if you have a weapon that procs Stun, a warrior will generate 400 hate per proc whereas a paladin will generate ~1,200 with the same proc. As a neat Al`Kabor quirk that may or may not be replicated, any procs in your spellbook will also be affected by foci (which really helps SK lifetap procs more than anything).
Mallets, strings, etc. are all generally accepted as 400 hate because the classes clicking them can't use the spell.
Given how important NPC's feel like ac is - I think that monks should get a bump to 350 ac to be on par with a wizard.
At least! ..and thank you for putting this discussion back on the topic. It may not be AKurate, but it seems like the argument is strong enough for it be AKceptable.
Enjoy your near top tier DPS, ability to self heal instantly every 6 minutes, drop aggro every 10 seconds, and best avoidance skills/tables in game.
You don't need nor deserve better AC tables. Monks are fine as they are designed. They aren't supposed to take hits, that's fine.
Im not interested in playing on another server like P99 where monks outnumber every other class by 2:1 because they are nearly Top DPS and damn near the best tank and puller on top of it.
The bump would be a minor change. No need to get all drama darchon about it. We do deserve a better ac table - this situation was rectified within our timeline although slightly outside our date. However, there are many things that seem to be in that are slightly outside our original patch date. Its certainly conceivable that with more time Hobart would've adjusted monks ac - sure we're near top tier dps now but we won't be when we're in our proper era - we'll be ... 4th?. Rangers will be like p99 monks ofc - top dps, no aggro, good tanks.
I understand that adjusting something slightly upward is nearly anathema to what's going on but to react as if I want us to prenerf monks is nutty. We'd still have our terrible post softcap mitigation; it would be a small bump to put monks on par with WIZARD ac. Oh no we're going to outtank wars. /hardeyerolll
Not everything needs to be AKurate to the point of detriment. I would be fine if shakerpaging was adjusted out, I am fine with MC being adjusted out. I'd be delighted if we could get a GoD casino for example.
Gazughi not generating insane aggro per click? Also nice.
It certainly seems like AKuracy is flexible at times. Why can't that flex result in 35 more pre softcap ac for a tier 2 dps? (A change that was in fact instituted anyway by Sony - also the monk nerf is fairly well acknowledged as a nerf bat swung a bit too far)
I will be a monk either way.
I played a monk on AK, and it wasn't so bad. You had mend, feign, and stonestance (sweet baby Bertoxxulous, do I ever miss stonestance!) for the routine stuff, as well as voiddance and Dain's scroll for more extreme situations. I loved the class, and never felt the lack of good mitigation got in the way of what I wanted to do!
Every once in a while I got cocky and tried to ramp tank a raid mob with less than stellar results, but that's exactly what the developers had in mind when they nerfed monk mitigation in the first place.
And you had Punchem duoing Dozekar with his shaman, so monks are hardly wizards, even if they mitigate like them!
I will continue to be downer Darchon when it comes to AKurate discussions. Yes the later expansions will change things but again I favor AKuracy even if it was a temporary issue on AK that was quickly fixed on PC servers.
Rangers have the downside of needing mobs to not be walled to do that tier of DPS, have no FD and are rangers.
Give me our 10 group limit on raid window, no song window and no 85/15 rule all day. Love me some AKuracy.
Raid code should be hard coded at 10 groups on server. Otherwise it breaks macs. Shouldnt be able to have more than 10 in a raid. Even though PC client shows more avail.
I can likely hack the PC client to show only 10 groups in raids.
Pretty sure he tanked with his sham
When he duo’d he tended to tank on his monk. He did for BoT minis.
I know toward the end he just used mourner instead anyway - a popular trend.
Slow + Q is love. Can't wait for Luclin AA's.
On the note of ranger dps relying on being unwalled, is that going to be also the case on here? Or fixed like Paci, etc? I have not heard one way or another.
Pretty sure it's already the case here.
Then punchem RMT'd all his accounts
With that said he also he wants our server to be more AKurate so please also return PPx2(perm pax and pet pulling) no reason those be nerfed
And gazugi ring kiting and unlimited boxing
could we maybe have a vote on the monk ac cap?
Ohh i like the voting idea... but I mean it doesn't even matter right now, we can talk about it when PoP is out.
We have used votes before to decide on features. And it doesn't work to keep things closer to AK.
Closer to AK is the goal. Votes dont work.
IMO, voting should only be to put something in that was removed from TAK that was originally on AK, due to it being exploitable.
If we're voting on stuff, I throw a vote in for the casino.
Perfect example of why votes dont work. Everyone wants something. And its usually non-AK stuff. So trying to be like AK just makes it simple.
If you want a transparent server where the staff blows fluffy bunnies up ur butt to make you feel better about urself? This isnt it.
If you want closest to AK? You are in the right place.
Perfect, I am in the right place.
I dont know anything about perma pax. Not my area.
PP ... maybe in Luclin. It has been discussed. Not sooner for sure.
