"Join us on Discord" - Help a newbie out

Is this something we can use in-game? I'd love to not have to type every convo. I've googled "use discord with everquest" but didn't see anything relevant to setup.

3 boxing on my MacBook takes a lot of resources, flipping to desktop for adjustment can make my internal temp spike. So I installed discord on my phone. Plug in a headset and you're good to go, and not tethered to your computer. Take your raid to the bathroom with you!

But yeah, will be a 3rd party program that doesn't run within EQ but behind it and separately.

 

Ah, okay! Does it only work with raids, or can I use it for everyday tooling around Norrath?

 

The discord chat acts as two things- a community hub similar to the forums here and voice chat.

 

There will be several voice channels and several text channels to choose from. Can use it for raids, groups or just to listen to some weirdos you don't know!
