Was waiting for the server to go from Luclin to PoP before I try playing it again, with the hopes that moving into PoP would bring a more modern UI, as I really just cannot adjust to the old school one that Al'Kabor has been using for the last few years.
I'm spoiled. What can I say? But I'm also interest in the new AA's that PoP will release, like Double Attack for Beastlords and Bards to make their DPS more competent.
The UI limitations that are currently on the server will always be here. You could get a custom UI but it wouldn't give you many things you may want. Also bard melee DPS will always be awful.
Rumor has it that @Secrets is going to release mousewheel zoom and /melody once Quarm v1.0 is defeated
Less awful with Double Attack, Crits and the damage/interrupt clickie Brusco's something, which I guess is supposed to be their version of Bash?
Boastful Bellow is a random 10-50 DD. It isn't much. They currently can critical with Combat Fury AAs. The double attack AA is something for sure, but in the end a bard who uses Drum + Offhand twisting 4 DoTs will far outparse the bard using 2 Weapons and any other combination of songs.
Probably a very lazy and poor mindset, but I was planning to always be using 2-weapons forever when/if I eventually acquire the Singing Short Sword.
Wait, why do I sound like a troll? Once I get Singing Short Sword I don't see a reason to use another instrument since it counts as all instruments at once (including singing). So I could use literally every song in my book with the SSS, leaving me free to use two weapons at all times.
Barding has some finer points to it. Some instruments have a higher modifier, so they boost your song effects more. Every individual thing bards do is weak on its own but they can do a lot of different things. You have to work harder for the same things that are easy on other classes. Most of the helpful things bards do end up being annoying or even harmful if not coordinated with the other players involved. You're right though, the epic weapon is very powerful and usually stays on, and you can sing the invis song without having to swap, but instruments are useful even with epic. So the vets here see this thread and immediately think either you're new and don't know these things, or you're trolling.
Well, I can see using an instrument with the Epic in very specific circumstances, such as if stacking a resistance is needed for a raid fight or something, but for general play, once I have my Epic I'd just be twisting 3-4 combat songs (self/group haste, target slow, target dot, and maybe a healing song) and beating on stuff while doing it.
Looking at the progress tracker, there have been 16 zones released in 20 months. There are 6 more zones broken up into 10 entries on the tracker. I’d say look for the release 8-12 months from now.
There is no such thing as sequential time just beads of now, like dew on a spiderweb shining in the morning sun
Since we (devs) force ppl to play here. You should complain more. And that might get the lazy devs to work harder. Think carrot, and that horse and cart thing. Maybe metal barbs on a whip might help too.
