Hey all, looking forward to playing on the server, but I can't seem to get past an error on launch claiming I don't have Direct X installed, when obviously I do. I'm using the suggested zip file from the 'Getting Started' section of the wiki.
You may need DirectX 8 or some other super old deprecated version. DirectX isn't backwards compatible – you may have DirectX 10, but that doesn't mean you have the 2002-era drivers installed.
I went back and checked and found that my drivers were indeed installed correctly, but still no dice. I used the MSI installer though and that worked. Got into the game and everything.
