Is it really a shield?

Does anyone know if the al'kabor allaclone (https://www.takproject.net/allaclone/) is accurate in telling me if a secondary slot item is a shield or not?

There are a bunch of items I didn't think were "shields" but the allaclone has the item type as shield (various books, tome's, etc)

The actual "shield" classification being important for AC softcap stuff.

Is there a better resource to be using to determine if an item qualifies as a shield or not?

this link says the item type is shield, is that accurate?

 

If Allaclone says it's a shield, it's a shield. Allaclone reads the TAKP database.
